As soon as I put Haley down, a complete stranger said to me "I'm next." Of course I laughed at his joke but on the inside I was thinking "sir the moment I let you climb on my back is the moment Obama starts doing commercials endorsing the NRA."
Of course anything is possible I suppose but ill save politics for a later time. Meanwhile as I'm pretending to not be out of breath while Haley and my friend Tory walk back to the car. We finally make it back to campus and walk another marathon to the hospital because Haley's assigned parking spot is in outer Siberia.
The funny thing is Haley had a similar accident last semester. So she is on first name basis with the hospital staff. In fact when they were prescribing her meds for her injury she still had left overs from the last incident. I tell ya I should just start carying oversized bandages in my pocketbook when I hang out with this chick!
For those of you who are wondering she's okay a nice sized hole in her heel but she's going to
be fine according to the docs. Although the grisly trail of blood she left downtown might cause the authorities to run a forensic search on the trail of blood left over from her "leap of faith." Tory told Haley to expect a call from the FBI asking if she's alive.

bloddy feet & close friends
For those of you who do not know who I am my name is Laura Hernandez. I am madd (i understand that's not how you spell that particular word but for all intensive purposes that is how i shall choose to spell it). Not in the sense that would communicate mental instability but in every other sense that communicates eccentricity.
Eccentric because I choose to be not because I am. If you follow at all what I just said then you are a little madd as well, but if could borrow from one of my favorite Disney movies "all the best people are."
You may still be wondering as to why I entitled this post "bloody feet & best friends." Well let me begin by saying. The most odd things tend to happen to me and my group of friends. One such odd experience occurred yesterday evening while some girl friends and I were in downtown Greenville.
We had just been let out of church when the lot of us decided to take a trip downtown before returning to school. This so called need for fun and adventure quickly escalated into an evening filled with awkward moments between strangers and surprise spur of the
moment runs to CVS for oversized bandages.
It began when my dear friend Haley suggested we take pictures downtown on the bridge overlooking the artsy section of the town. A pretty normal thing a couple of girls taking pictures *LIES* girls are never normal when they take pictures. Because they need to take not just one but multiple. In multiple poses, and angles that the process really can be more fun than the opposite sex would care to investigate.
While in the middle of our picture taking montage that my sweet sweet friend decided to take a leap of faith from a small curb that ended with her heel firmly planted on a nice square-sized spike sticking out of the cement.
It was odd not because there was blood overflowing from a hole in the bottom of her heel, but because Haley never once uttered a word. Other than a surprised look of contorted pain she didn't even cry.
Sadly I was not there to witness the actual so-called "leap of faith, but I was definitely there to witness the trail of blood Haley left as we walked to the closest CVS because naturally we carry oversized bandages with us (although if i continue to hang out with Haley I might have to).
The poor thing continued to drip blood and leave this nice little bloody trail behind her as we walked from the CVS back to her car. I couldn't let my friend hobble like an old lady back to her car so I courageously tried to carry her. It was not until I walked three feet with her on my shoulders that I realized there was no way on earth I could carry her back to our car.
It was for both our sakes that I set her back down. You see I possess a very weak spine, and it's not that Haley is large but every time she swayed a little I felt my spine bend like a sickly tree sapling.
